The context in which Dutch manufacturers of food processing machinery and food packaging operate is one of uncertainty, complexity and rapid change. Stricter environmental requirements, consumers becoming increasingly spoilt and relatively high wages in the Netherlands all demand increased productivity.
Therefore GMV, the manufacturers’ umbrella organisation, in conjunction with De Ruijter Strategy, developed a vision of the business for the next ten years.
Questions arose as to what opportunities and threats would arise in the world of Dutch manufacturers of food processing machinery and food packaging. And how could these manufacturers, more than in any other domain, make use of the opportunities and eliminate threats to the industry?
The main premise of the film, called Creating Better Food, is that the Netherlands is to the food industry what Hollywood is to the film industry. It is used by GMV and the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture in the international promotion of the importance of the Netherlands to the food industry.
Recently the film has been shown at the international meeting of Agricultural Councils in Rotterdam, the Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad (Serbia) and at the General Council in Ho-Chi-Minh City, Vietnam.
